In 2004 we began to look for ways to commuicate with our families and it was then that the Long Creek News was created.  On May 1, 2005 the Long Creek Cemetery Assocation put out its first volume of the Long Creek News.  Since that day we have published a total of seven (7) Newsletters full of the history, stories, trivia, events and burials of Long Creek Cemetery and its families.  With an initial mailing list of about 100 our mailing list has currently grown to well over 350 individuals who are burial plot owners, members of the Association and family members of those buried at Long Creek Cemetery.   Currently, the Long Creek News is going out not just locally but to some living in Missouri, Kansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma as well as a number of cities outside of the Sunnyvale/Mesquite area.

Currently, due to the rise in cost of postage and the cost of reproducing the Newsletter, we are working on setting the Newsletter so that it can be accessed online and via e-mail.  We also have a limited number of the previous Newsletters available (Vol. 1-7) for a donation of $10.00 or more and you can mail the donation with a self addressed envelope to:  Long Creek Cemetery Association, PO Box 850788, Mesquite, TX  75185.  All donations will go toward the continuance of the Long Creek News.

Next edition of the Long Creek News is set to go out in late September, 2008.
