Well another year has begun and another annual meeting is over.     It is always wonderful to see   all the members of our families who come out each year to support the Association and cast their vote to elect officers for the coming year.     You will find the listing of the 2008 Officers and Trustees on the Association Page of this website.   We look forward to another year of caring for the resting place of our Ancestors and in making Long Creek a place they would have all been proud of.

March 2008

We are happy to announce that the year has gotten off to a wonderful start at Long Creek.   The grass is coming in and the wild flowers are in bloom.     The Association's Board met at Long Creek to walk the grounds and discuss our   thoughts and ideas   regarding   any maintenance issues we felt needed to be addressed at this time.   One of the   items we felt needed immediate attention was the "ANT" issue.     We have spoke with our groundskeeper and requested that the entire grounds, both North and South sides, be treated   for ants as soon as possible.     Should you be out on the grounds and feel that there is something that should be   brought to   the Board's attention please do not hesitate to contact us directly at 469-684-5083.

We will be hosting   a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony on May 17, (Armed Forces Day) to honor our military personnel both past and present. We are inviting the community and our Long Creek Families to come out to the cemetery and tie a yellow ribbon on the gates in honor of those who have so bravely served our country.

We are so very proud of all our Veterans and their families for the service and sacrifice they gave tso that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today.   The gathering originally planned for this day has been cancelled, however; we encourage our families to come out to LC and remove their Yellow Ribbons from the fenses as you pay your respects.  Due to the weather over the past week the Flags have been removed from the flag pole and we hope to have the Flags posted again as soon as we feel they will be safe from strong winds.

December 2008

As the end of another year approaches we hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful year with family and friends and that you have made memories that will long outlast the passage of time.  Happy Holidays...See you in the New Year!!
