January 30, 2010

The Long Creek Cemetery Association's annual meeting was held today and it was so great to see all of those who were able to attend.  Although I don't remember the offical count I think there were approximately 60 members in attendance.

After serving six years as President I made the difficult decision not to seek re-election for another year.  These years have been a great pleasure as I, along with those who served along side me, cared for our Cemetery and served our families in their times of great need.

The election of officers for 2010 came to a close and it is with great pride and appreciation that I present the Officers and Trustees of the Long Creek Cemetery Association,

                           Jim Duckworth, President
                           Bill Petty, Vice President
                           Melissa Thompson, Secretary/Treasurer

With the election of Jim Duckworth as President it opened a Trustee position to be filled.  The Trustees are as follows:

                           John Foster (Newly Elected)
                           Billy Qualls, Returning Trustee
                           Patsy Paschall, Returning Trustee

I know that they will serve the Long Creek Cemetery, Association and our families with great compassion and loyalty and I look forward to working along side them in the future.

The day came to an end and everyone went their seperate ways once again, but as it did I was reminded of so many of the wonderful times we had shared the past six years, the memories that were made that will always be with me and I will never forget those who have touched my life and those I've been blessed to know.

I guess all there is to say now is, Rest well David my friend, Long Creek is in good hands and we will think of you and miss you always.
